President Biden did what Donald Trump would never be able to do: He set aside his ego for the better of the country. People can point to all the polls and Nancy Pelosi and Adam Schiff pushing him toward this, but ultimately it was his decision. And that couldn't be clearer from the fact that everyone got on board behind Kamala Harris immediately. Democrats are a sort where if you have ten people in a room and ask them to order lunch, you'd have to place 11 orders. But they came together and everyone got on the same page (Except Joe Manchin, but honestly fuck Joe Manchin.) What he did took more courage than anything Donald Trump has done in his entire life.
I know people might not like the timing of it all. But in other countries, elections don't last months and months. And honestly, I think it benefits Kamala to not have a long drawn out election. People get fatigued by all the election news. She provides something fresh and exciting and something people have been asking for: A candidate under the age of 70.
This should help drum up excitement for the Democratic party, and the convention next month. And it should help with voter turnout.

The whole tone of Church teaching in regard to woman is, to the last degree, contemptuous and degrading. - Elizabeth Cady Stanton
