Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio), Donald Trump’s running mate, dismissed right-wing agitator Laura Loomer’s racist criticisms after she said the “White House will smell like curry” if Vice President Kamala Harris wins the presidential election. Loomer is a close Trump ally and traveled with him several days last week, including to 9/11 memorials.

Vance — whose wife is the daughter of Indian immigrants — said on NBC’s “Meet the Press” that he did not agree with what Loomer said about Harris, but did not regard the comments as problematic.

“I don’t think that it’s insulting for anybody to talk about their dietary preferences or what they want to do in the White House,” Vance said.
