How many riots were there when Nixon was forced to resign? How was Nixon going to rally anyone after Watergate when he had all the charisma of a dead fish? I don't think 1974 America and 2024 America are very comparable.

You mean like impose tariffs to cover tax cuts? Maybe suggesting home remedies for a novel respiratory infection that was both easily transmissible and highly virulent? Or maybe suggesting to Putin that if he invaded a NATO that was not honoring the 2% rule, the US would not honor its Article 5 commitments?
Those are all impossibly stupid things that Trump said or did, and yet here we are, with this election within the margin of error.
