When I had my oldest in 1977, this is something they preached to us. One day when she was a baby we were at my parents' house and my dad gave her a bit of honey and I nearly fainted, thinking - this is it. I can't keep this creature alive.
She's 47 now and I have never heard of a kid dying from the ingestion of honey...that doesn't mean it hasn't happened, but you would think I would have heard of one case.
