The Vrykolakas is a loose Greek equivalent of a vampire. Although, its appearance in folklore was created in the eighteenth century. Therefore, during Minoan times they might not have had a clue as to its identity.
The first known written reference to vampires was in 1047 in Old Russian, using the word upir. Although the same Source states that ancient Greece might have had oral references to vampires.
