I remember something worse happening to a co-worker regarding a job interview thanks to a computer SNAFU. It involved an early version of Windows, I think 3.1. back in the early 90s. Apparently, he was presented with a field demanding his title during Windows set-up. It wouldn't let him continue without ii. Frustrated, he entered something silly like, "High Exalted All-Powerful Lord of the Universe". He got Windows set up and the Title thing was forgotten. Two years later, he used Windows to send a Word document replying to a job opening in the form of a fax. To his horror, he learned that Windows included his "Title" in the header of the fax.
