If I want to employ an engineer I will ask about his or her qualifications and experience, I may check his or her employment history, how he gets his fun is none of my business and will have zero impact on my decision. I have worked with people of all races and backgrounds, male, female and one I really wasn't sure about, what mattered was they could all do the job.
