Again, almost every representation of a deity, in every religion throughout history, takes some physical form. The Sun is easily the most widespread deity, but you also have the moon, rivers, the wind, statues and idols, fire and totems, cats, elephants, eagles, bulls, etc.
The Abrahamic religions have one of the most abstract definitions of God, so what definition are you using that it alone be incompatible with man?
