Democrats do get one advantage from Trump ending the Ukraine war in this way.
There are some Dems and others who are SO FAR out in Cloud Cuckoo Land that they think Ukraine is winning the war, or could somehow win back the territory it has lost through military means.
Trump is just acknowledging reality, and putting an end to a ridiculous waste of lives.
But by doing it this way, the fantasists (those F-16s are going to be game-changers any day now!) can claim that Trump stopped things too early, and Zelensky would have won pretty soon if given the chance. That's silly, but not sillier than a lot of things people have believed. (US troops will be greeted with flowers in Baghdad; the Taliban will be easily defeated, etc. etc.)
