Wait until DOGE hits Medicare or Social Security.
They are already stopping telehealth calls for Medicare patients beginning on April 1st.
I can sort of understand that this should be looked at as the visits are charged the same as an in person visit. You certainly can't take temperatures and blood pressure readings or draw blood over the phone so I will give them that.
But there are people who no longer want to drive or cannot drive and don't have access to a family member or friend who can get them to an appointment, especially if it's not planned ahead.
That all said...a couple years back my doctor had COVID. She wasn't down for the count but didn't want to be in physical contact with patients or staff. I had one of my usual sinus infections and we talked through it via Facetime and it worked out well. I got the care I needed and neither of us were spreading germs around. Additional tests weren't required.
