They're lost. They think you're a literal baby eating demon and that donald trump is the goodest and most handsome boy. They don't want centrist policies and compromise.
I think you'd be wasting your time making deals with and censoring your speech against fascists who hate you when you could be courting apathetics who have been turned off by our governments genuine incompetence, unresponsiveness, and unrepresentativeness. Nothing says nothing matters like making deals and playing nice with the guys you said would destroy the country.
