Well, Alyssa Ljub describes this phrase as another label for ‘male centeredness’ on the Chewed Gum live series (The Line). Loneliness exists without a doubt. But to imply that one gender is suffering resulting in an ‘epidemic’ is a stretch and cringe. But I could be wrong. I may be wrong.
I do agree with her because loneliness is universal affecting all ages. Single men, married men, divorced men (so on) surely experience loneliness. But the causes are personal or private. Maybe unquantifiable. In any case, authentic friendships ought to be fair solutions (for everyone).
What do you think? Is the phrase a failed attempt of click bait propaganda?
Is there some ground to it that doesn't hint to male privilege?
Or is all of this a mountain from a mole hill?
