Granted, he's probably going to find some way to fuck it up (I hope to Hell he doesn't cut corners for safety), but given that nuclear power is probably the most sustainable form of alternative energy that actually has a chance of replacing fossil fuels, this is a good thing.
Building single 1 GW reactor involves capital costs of as much as $10 billion. Given a mean construction time of about 7 years, financing will just about double the cost. Once you build 15 or 20 such reactors, the unit cost drops significantly (which is how South Korea manages to build them for about $2.5 billion).
If the US wants nuclear power to address rising electricity demands, they should have started building these things 50 years ago.
