It gets tired, seeing the same approach taken over and over. Assume a shitload of presuppositions, then demand that human knowledge and discovery disprove those presuppositions, all while claiming that the nature of the god in question cannot be found through any means other than imagination. Misuse words like "theory," "evidence" and "proof" to pretend that the issue is settled. Dissemble and obfuscate when the obvious problems with the approach are explained.
Does this approach actually work for the believer? I believed as long as I did because I deliberately shielded myself from any discussion that would threaten my worldview. When I tried to work out a reliable set of "proofs" for god... god fell apart comically fast. How can anyone expose themselves to logical, rational, critical thought and still cling to their presuppositions?

"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."
