Why do American Atheists Believe in the Constitution?

A more interesting question than the title of this discussion would be: "Do American atheists believe in the Constitution?"  At least we could then discuss the problems we have with it, as presently interpreted.  For instance, it's obvious that the right to own firearms needs amending for modern times, since it leads to so many problems.  The electoral college should go away.  Taxing churches would also be a good idea, and so on.

However, those relatively smaller issues are not the complete overhaul which SH had in mind.

The first two would require amendments. Taxing churches could be done legislatively (and would involve a LOT of screeching).
