The gutting of the regulatory class in government means regulation devolves to the state level. Some of us live in states like mine (Massachusetts) where things haven't changed much except for the most vulnerable. State legislatures are scary in the flyover portion of the country.
...and when/if the central government comes for you, with legislation and armed forces, in order to fix that, you are going to live in an empire.
