This isn't any sort of military exigency, and tactics/operational arts don't apply. This is about using the military as warm bodies in pursuance of a political agenda.
In addition, I think Trump's handlers may be looking at the threats of, or actual use of, the Guard and/or regular service as a method of provoking a violent response in order to convince him to impose martial law ahead of the mid-terms.
Which is SURE to start a civil war. Remember the ‘No Kings’ protests? Imagine ten times that many people, ten times angrier…and armed.
I think even the MAGAts might take to the streets if their right to vote was taken away.
