As much right-wing violence as has been perpetrated in America, pointing to left-wing violence (which hasn't been shown yet in this case) strikes me as an illusionist's "look over here" moment. The numbers speak for themselves; right-wing terrorist actions far outweigh the left here.
No one knows who killed Kirk or why. But even if the killer was a leftist, isn't he only dishing up what he's been spoon-fed? When you advocate violence, you perforce accept that it may fall upon yourself.
