No, the 2007 Dresden Files TV show does not follow the books; the author, Jim Butcher, has described the show as an alternate universe version of the story. While the show shares the same characters and premise, it diverges significantly, especially after the first episode, and is a "buddy-cop" drama that doesn't mirror the books' evolving, more epic tone.

One of the instances where I should probably read the books instead, but oh well.
