The strange thing about that framing is that the Bible is only obliquely quoted. She spends a lot time about the meaning of “ezer kenegdo” in the Bible, but very little on the actual paper she was suppposed to be reacting to.
And we even have the rubric she was supposed to be graded on. Not to mention the exact responses both the TA and her supervisor gave to the essay. So you can even try it for yourself.* Or you can watch Dead Domain do so:
This is like that scene from The Stupids where Tom Arnold loses his job at the post office after demanding a full-scale investigation into who “Sender” is and why so much mail is being returned to him, and he walks away thinking there’s some conspiracy and not that he was an idiot.
* Worth noting: word count alone was supposed to be worth ten points. The count was meant to be a minimum 650 words with 10 points docked for a word count between 620 and 649 words. Fulnecky’s essay was 630 words.
