Quote:Rep. Jason Smith (R-Mo.) on Thursday questioned why Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) would be banned from polling places ahead of midterm elections.
“Why should you ban ICE from being at polling places? Because illegals aren’t supposed to vote in this America,” Smith said during an appearance on CNBC’s “Squawk Box.”
“I mean, like, it does not make sense, the requests that they’re having, enforce the rule of law, and that’s what President Trump is doing. Apparently Democrats don’t like the rule of law. If they don’t like the rule of law, they need to change it,” he added.
In recent weeks, Democrats have raised concerns with ICE and other immigration authorities who wear masks, operate without judicial warrants and question their use of force while interacting with the general public.
Sen. Mark Warner (D-Va.) said ICE agents could try to “intimidate” voters who are heading to polling places to cast their ballot following the death of two U.S. citizens in Minnesota.

Probably because stationing armed goons at polling places is a tried-and-true voter intimidation technique, ya numpty.
