Actually no. But it serves my purposes too. Now we come to think of gays as something resembling a common "nation" or at least a minority of their own, and you tried to pull off a game of words on that basis, linking homophobia to xenophobia or racism. Obviously, it's unrelated. I do not really distinct between different ethnicities of gays. All are equally gay, suffice to say....
You could use any modifier you wish. I chose "Turks" because it illustrates the ridiculous and offensive nature of this statement. I could have said "People who wear purple shorts" and it would be equally ignorant. Expressing bigotry towards someone on the basis that they are different from you is garbage regardless of whether the difference is nationality, race....or sexual orientation. It's called "the fear of the other", and it actually does cover all of these things, as they are intrinsically tied to each other. So, obviously, someone never paid attention in class.
Still, I do not fear the "other" more than he fears me, but if I have to, I make sure that he fears me more than I fear him.
Having said that, I was quite sincere in my opinion when I said that homosexuals should lay low in society, for their own wellbeing, as well as the preservation of the harmony present within society.
If any side breaks this harmony, they are to be held accountable. I have no intention of breaking this, and I expect the other side to do the same.
