God would not ask for a sacrifice today, Christ finished all such sacrifice, you have no leg to stand on with this.
Chippy JUST SAID that god had no intention of having Abraham sacrifice his son even back then you dipshit! Your point is mute -- YOUR god asked a FATHER to kill his SON for him - regardless of the reason or what year it happened!
Lucky for you, you don't have to prove any of this ever happened. You know full well that no one in their right mind is going to believe ANYONE who claims god told them to kill their children. If your god chose to test you today by asking you to make a blood sacrifice out of your children, would you do it? Oh wait, in all honesty, you wouldn't would you ... because somewhere in that puny brain of yours you know that what I'm saying is right and that there is NO WAY IN FUCKING HELL that you would gut your own child for an IMMORAL god who likes toying with his play things. Thankfully the story is fiction, but even if it wasn't, Abraham would be arrested and condemned as an insane man guilty of attempted ritual murder and sent away without the slightest defense from imbecile christians like yourself. Hypocrite.
People are people and 2000 years doesn't make one god damn bit of difference. Crazy is crazy and the false need for blood sacrifices is just as horrifying now as it was back then.
Quote:The people of the OT and NT did not believe that the world was flat nor did they believe that the world was held up by actual pillars, if you truly believe this then you are worse off than I thought .
Hmmm ... you on the other hand could not get any worse. Here's some people who disagree with you. http://www.lhup.edu/~dsimanek/febible.htm
As for your claim to what people thought back 2000+ years ago...
Yes there was a few enlightened people (Eratosthenes comes to mind) and a couple of civilizations that believed that the earth was a sphere way back, however it has been well established that the predominate notion in the Christian controlled world was that the earth was flat. To deny this only shows more of your own naivety. Research the lives of men like Galileo and Copernicus if you doubt me ... but please, study from a text book that wasn't dreamed up 2000 years ago and written by fucktards.
