Hey,
Matt, I would assume that most of the people here have seen that film. It has been quite a few years... It is a powerful film, and although the debate still rages on, it is a valuable way to see that side of the argument.
I agree that we have been lied to, I don't think we can find very many places that the American Government did not lie to its citizens, and citizens of the world. They have a long, long history of such, and I tried to make that a point about 9/11. I don't know if I was very clear, but I tried...
It is assured that some of the people behind Bush Jr's government were very, very smart. And amoral and with strange priorities... We, where I live all reference it as Dick Cheney's presidency. He won the second election in a similar manner to the first. "George Bush stole the oval office, and he was able to because no one stood up and said 'no',". But I am having trouble with the lack of Bush. I hated Americas leaders long before Bush. Then Bush made it popular to hate the federal government and mock the president... So everyone was fine with it. Nowadays I still hate the American government as much (if not more), and people want to lynch me. I went to a concert last week, the girl said "this song is called 'yes we can', and I was the only person who yelled 'Fuck Obama'. Let me remind you that I am not in America. And people were cheering and going crazy, and then some big guy turned and tried to fight me for my statement. I asked him 'what country are you from?'. The point being that I felt more entitled to my opinion as an American ExPat. More little tidbits of who Pippy is are crumbling out...
All I am saying is that now everyone is in love with the rock-star beige president, and I am back to being an outcast for having legitimate hatred (based on an actual relationship) of the system... Do you guys get that? Do any of you think anything other than adoration for Barky? I would be curious to know, but it is unimportant...
Thank you guys for listening.
