How many miracles needed in the Noah myth?
#68
RE: How many miracles needed in the Noah myth?
Quote:Jesus
Might as well have said "Thor"

Quote:These are funny times we live in people, So much corruption, selfishness, pride, and hate.
It doesnt help when people can pull out bible versus that condone genocide, race hating, sexism, murder, homophobia, and outright murder.
Quote:Everyone thinks they are right, but that can't be.
the only ones who say crap like this are the ubber religious. Why? Because they are setting you up for a fall and to make THEM look right.
So you have greased the gun..whats next?
Quote:No one is worth voting for in government anymore and you just have to take the lesser of 2 evils I guess.
It sucks even worse if you are an atheist..you have the option of "atheist hating Christian" or "atheist hating Christian".
Quote: We live in a world of political correctness and afraid to step on toes, and sometimes against our own better judgment.
uh oh...PC is being brought up...what kind of fucked up hateful shit are you setting us up for?
Quote: So many different denominations of religion fight against each other about who is right and some people don't even believe in a creator at all.
Proof that a perfect creator either doesnt exist or frankly doesnt give a fuck...either that or a creator who MEANT for us all to bicker over stupid shit like religion.
Quote: Each to his own,
I dont believe you feel this way...I think you are busy setting us up for something
Quote: but let me say this.
AHA!!! There is the famous "BUT" that fundies put in between of lubing you up and sticking it hard up your bum.
Quote:You will spend eternity somewhere. (1) Heaven (2) Hell (3) Or some think limbo and nothing matters.
You havent even proven that eternity even exists. Which Heaven? Asguard like the vikings believed? Or The Islamic heaven of virgins o'plenty? Who's Hell? the Greek Hell which really wasnt that bad of a Hell? The Islamic Hell where Christians get boiling metal poured down their throats right next to the atheists? How about the buddhist idea of a "hell" where you keep reincarnating over and over (I know not all buddhist believe in it). Limbo? which one? The one the church created for a quick money scam? Or the "limbo" that existed in Hades as the boundary between Carcerai and Elysium?

Why is "Limbo" and "nothing matters" (apparently the atheist view to you) grouped together?

Could you be anymore vague?
Quote:OK, if there is a Hell it is agreed that no one wants to go there and there is something you can do to avoid it.
You havent even described which Hell you are talking about. Is it "Helheim" where Loki's daughter watches over those who failed to die in glorious battle? not only have you failed to be specific on which Hell you are talking about, you have also failed to present evidence that it is a legitimate choice in this mish mosh of bullshit you have presented to this atheist forum.

To avoid the viking Hell, one really didnt have to worship the Æsir per se, but to merely die in battle (wether defensive or offensive). the reason being is that the Æsir are well aware of the prophesy of the Norns about Ragnaroc, and they therefore need to pack valhalla with as many proven worriors as possible. If they can get the right kind of warriors, then maybe the tree of life will not die and the world will become renewed without the frost or fire giants into a glorious new world ruled by the resurected baldur and the sons of Thor.

Is that one of the ways you meant we can avoid Hel?
Quote:That leads to what you need to do to get to Heaven.
No it doesnt. you have given ZERO information on anything. You strike me as a rambling bufoon.
Quote: If you think you will get there then ask yourself, why would they let me in, only through the blood of Jesus Christ, period.
What about people, such as myself, who have read the bible cover to cover and came to the conclusion that they think Christ is a dick head? Why would people who have come to that conclusion wish to go to spend eternity with someone they dispise?

And the "blood' thing? What are you some kind of cultist?

Quote: If you think limbo is the answer and nothing matters, then laws don't matter and the world is a free for all and I can come to your house and take what I want and kill you and your family and it won't matter will it.
this isnt even accurate with the Christian description of Limbo. I ask you to please do some homework on "Limbo" before further making a fool out of yourself on this forum. We are not a Christian forum, we are an ATHEIST forum, which means many people on this forum are LIGHT YEARS more knowledgable of your religion than you are.
Quote:No you probably don't like that idea because you know inside what is right.
Really? A house is burning. You only have the ability to rescue ONE person. There are two people in the house. One of them is your son, the other is a stranger.

Using your "inside knows what is right" powers, which one will you save?
Quote:So what if there is a Heaven, with all it's glory and I am right, oh what you will miss.
Heaven isnt glorious from what I have read in your bible. your God cant even stop wars from being waged in his own "perfect and glorious" heaven. what about fallen angels? Heaven must not be so "glorious" if higher beings created IN heaven are willing to oppose it. Sounds like I will be missing all of the bloodshed and egotistical rantings of Jesus and your war god.

thanks, but no thanks...if heaven is real I dont want anything to do with it.
Quote: Now if I am wrong, what have you lost? nothing because it won't matter.
this argument is STILL considered popular and effective by christians today?!? Its the stupidest argument I have ever heard.
Quote:You will lose your pride, hate, conceit and arrogance and maybe be a little easier person to get along with.
Strange...if I had Jesus' power to heal sickness I would have tavelled the world removing sickness from everyone. Instead, Jesus merely healed a few people, and he did it in front of lots of people to use as an advertisement. Talk about pride, conceit, and arrogance. Jesus was FULL of it. He even refused to see his mother at these events, instead saying "who is my mother?". then he said if you do not hate your mother, father, and even your own life, then you cannot be my follower.

You say that I am arrogant?

Not nearly as bad as Jesus was.
Quote:If this offends any one, good because that means the power of the LORD is speaking to your heart, and yes everybody has one.
Yet your entire first paragraph was about you complaining how people are hateful ...then you say you are GLAD to offend people.

You are a twisted character....yes you are.
Quote:Hardened sometimes, but we all have one. I can tell you that God is real by the changes he has made in my life and I am unworthy and no better than anyone else.
Just like the Muslims would say the same thing, and the Hindus, and the Buddhists, and...well....every single religion in the world uses that as "proof" that they are correct.
Quote: If you have an opinion about this that differs from mine I welcome any correspondence.
I think you are lying about that. I expect you to disapear from this forum in less than 20 posts.
Quote:I used to think I had all the answers, but I did not.
Yet you make a post claiming you know the ultimate purpose in life, that you know what is "right" in side of you, etc...etc...
Quote: Jesus is all you need.
Now you know everything to the point that you know what everyone NEEDS? Egotistical, arrogant, spiteful....all of these fit you nicely.
Quote:Oh, and some say Jesus was just a good man and I don't believe all that Bible stuff then get this.
Actually I think Jesus was an egotistical prick with god delusions...if he existed. I personally think Jesus is make believe like spiderman.
Quote: Either Jesus was just exactly who he said he was, the son of God, who gave his life freely to save the world and every word of the Bible is true, OR Jesus was a liar, and the Bible is total nonsense.
*yawn* argument was debunked the moment it was created. But dont let that stop youfrom using it now...
Quote: That is because if Jesus lied just once there is no credibility and therefore no hope for this world.
Well, that is easy to point out:
Mark 4:30-32 Wrote:Again he said, “What shall we say the kingdom of God is like, or what parable shall we use to describe it? 31 It is like a mustard seed, which is the smallest of all seeds on earth. 32 Yet when planted, it grows and becomes the largest of all garden plants, with such big branches that the birds can perch in its shade.”
The mustard seed is not the smallest of all seeds. Many seeds are much, much smaller.

That make Jesus either stupid, careless, or a liar....which one will you prefer?

Me, I say that is just one more proof that Jesus was invented by fallable humans who did not know any better.
Quote: I hope this appeals to the intellect of those who don't know Jesus and think they have it all figured out. Jesus is coming back sometime, where will you be.
I suggest you take this shit over to RaptureReady forums...they will appreciate it much more than we.

And when Jesus comes back, I hope I am sitting on the shitter squeezing out a corn loaf.
