To avoid the viking Hell, one really didnt have to worship the Æsir per se, but to merely die in battle (wether defensive or offensive). the reason being is that the Æsir are well aware of the prophesy of the Norns about Ragnaroc, and they therefore need to pack valhalla with as many proven worriors as possible. If they can get the right kind of warriors, then maybe the tree of life will not die and the world will become renewed without the frost or fire giants into a glorious new world ruled by the resurected baldur and the sons of Thor.

Strange...if I had Jesus' power to heal sickness I would have tavelled the world removing sickness from everyone. Instead, Jesus merely healed a few people, and he did it in front of lots of people to use as an advertisement. Talk about pride, conceit, and arrogance. Jesus was FULL of it. He even refused to see his mother at these events, instead saying "who is my mother?". then he said if you do not hate your mother, father, and even your own life, then you cannot be my follower.
