hmmm...good question. I imagine that people can approach their activism with religious zeal.
I look at the word "activism" to be more of a modifier in that sense. One can be a Christian, and one can be an activist christian. One can be an atheist, another can be an activist atheist.

If one were to ask my view on food, I would have to say I like Thomas Jeffersons approach to it.
Vegetables are the main course, and meat is the condiment.
I huge bowl of garden salad with a small piece of chicken on the side. Yeah. Maybe a nice slice of sharp chedar and a slice of french bread and a glass of wine. Thats some healthy eating there. Well balanced. Lots of energy and not too heavy.
thats the way I used to be before I married my German wife... now everything is cheese and sausage...LOL.
