Theists are claiming that people can say things in the bible without what they said becoming the word of god.
A question to theists; if you say the above, that people can say things in the bible that aren't the word of god, how many other things would you lose? You take plenty of advice from dialogue in the bible. In fact, many of the moral messages and commands are made by people or the narrator, and not god directly. Are you saying that only things that god said in the bible should be considered as his commands?
Your problem is you specify the question and generalize the answer. Yes the bible is the word of g God and is truth. Yes the bible contains people who sin who follow God. And yes the bible everyone sins including the best profits on the bible (exception of Jesus). I fail to see a contradiction here.
Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war's desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust."
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
