Ha ha good point! +1 internets for you. The answer is simple though, people are curious and like to talk about stuff with like-minded people. The funny part is the fact that "atheist" simply means a lack of belief in god. There are no doctrines and covenants that apply to atheism. I like the diversity here and enjoy sharpening my mind by subjecting it to divergent views.
Most people I interact with don't put much thought into things so talking to them is not very stimulating. At first, I was annoyed that there were theists here, but the discussions are that much more interesting because of your ilk.
Since coming here I am much less interested in "battle lines" between "us" and "them" and realize that "atheist" is just a label that WILL change given the appropriate evidence.
