FNM was right. You did write an epic. While I read most of what you wrote, I confess to having skimmed over some parts in the middle.
To a large part, everyone follows their intuitions. I consider intuition reason’s equal partner. People only start to question when what they think they know doesn’t sound quite right anymore. From what you described that’s what you seem to be describing. Graduating from school never stopped me from continuing to learn. Some time ago my learning led me to conclude that the faith I was taught didn’t fit with what I believed to be true. So I stopped believing in god. I continued to study and the absence of god seemed more problematic to me, so I reexamined my religious tradition and found a more profound faith than I knew previously. As I continue to learn I may again conclude that god does not exist. Or not.
All I’m saying is don’t sweat it. Our opinions are the least important parts of us. I also look forward to your posts.
