He's either that or just a VERY stoopid Fijian...there are ALOT of them ya know. Prime targets for religion. 
Most "religious fervour" is along the major subduction zones on this planet?? And God was not originally a volcano?? More like god is an appeal against natural forces and those who benefit from it are those least able to explain it.
