The point that is being made, is that there is no harm in you finding solace in something you have strong faith in, however this does not increase the probability of it being true, merely increases the likelihood you would find the delusion preferential to reality.
Just because you would like something to be true, is not the same as it actually being true.
People find comfort in lots of different religions and beliefs, and obtain the same comfort you find in yours. You would be quick to dismiss their religion despite the fact that they believe as strongly, and are comforted as much.
