Hmmm, I'd have to disagree with you there. You have a highly religious population, so it's no wonder so many of your politicians are religious. The UK on the other hand is highly irreligious, yet we have a national religion, an unelected head of state who claims she was "chosen by God", 12 unelected bishops in the House of Lords, etc...
It's not our politicians that are religious per se, it's the archaic system we have that is.
