As an allergy sufferer, I hear it a lot - even from people I work with that I am almost certain are not believers. It doesn't annoy me. It's a custom with archaic roots that's ingrained in our culture, and for some people, it's practically automatic, and it's meant to be polite. I've caught myself saying it on occasion. I prefer the German "gesundheit" as (I think) it has no superstitious connotations.

I think I agree with both you and Shell on this. I mean, I never actually get offended about it. However, it's like "Sneeze!" "Bless You!" and then I'm just thinking in my head "...fucking religion"
