And then there's the old standby, "You can't be a force for good if you've removed yourself from the situation." (Though analyzing it in terms ala Sun Tzu gets rather complicated rather fast. I bought two new translations, but in general I haven't spent enough time with Sun Tzu. Actually, one isn't a translation, but a Cleary translation of two generals' commentary on Sun Tzu.
