I cannot express the depths of hatred for that country, fundamentalist government, it's pretty much the same as Iran only with less severe reprisals, you only get shunned for not adhering to stupid values. I know that is a very poor generalisation but it boils my blood to think that genuinely innocent and unintrusive citizens are being denied the most fundamental rights. I don't see how it's the government's right to intrude in people's love lives and all people deserve the same rights, that's simply institutionalised discrimination.
Government loves to intrude. Democrats do it most in the US, but when the GOP gets involved, they really pull out all the stops and overshadow anything the Democrats have done.
