With dogs, when you cross different breeds you more often get "hybrid vigor". In other words, the dog will be less subject to inherit the medical faults to which all cousin-to-cousin breeding leads. If your race is so self contained you'd better hope the gene pool is wide enough that you yourself are not the result of inbreeding.

It is too bad you can't be satisfied with being good enough racially and nationally. You're not alone in this fault. Many in the United States are just as screwed up as you are in this way.
