Also, you ignore the section in the link titled "Biblical usage". It does not say sphere in there, so your point is irrelevant.
Your god apparently gave you the fucking bible, heck, you even believe he created the world, it's not much of a stretch for him to say "this is the shape of the earth, and here's a word to describe this shape". If a great majority was not lost by the host of bullshit in the bible, I doubt it would be to some term that they hadn't come across being mentioned once in the whole book.
