If I understand you cerrectly you are looking for german novels, which are not about Hitler or anything like that?
Ever read Max Frisch? I'd recommend "Homo Faber".
By the way, your English is pretty good. Your spelling leaves much to be desired, though. Hopefully, it will improve.
