Quote:I haven't read Max Frisch but I probably will when I can find his books.Frisch is actually from switzerland. But he always wrote in german.
A book most people like is "Das Parfum" by Patrick Süskind. Maybe you already know it or have heard of it.
Quote:Berlin response (my native-Berlin German teacher taught me): Wenn du ihn siest. (when you see him)
Yes, Berlin is a godless city.
There's a nice joke about it (I hope I can tell it in english):
A Berlin family is moving to bavaria (very catholic). Their youngest son, let's call him Fritz, comes to the bavarian school and after the first week on friday afternoon the teacher says "okay, now close to the weekend, let's slow down a bit and play a little game." He goes to Fritz. "Fritz quick, what is that: It collects nuts, jumps from tree to tree and has a bushy tail?!" Fritz answers:"Well, I'd say it's a squirrel, but after this week I guess you're talking about the virgin mary again."
