I have the best of both worlds. I live a 20 mine drive from the CBD. Halfway down a hill,at the base of a quiet cul de sac. The house faces north, below is a linear park running several miles east-west. I seldom bother going into the city.

Below a couple of pics. The first taken through my kitchen window.(the tree is in my yard) The other is of the park at the beginning of winter, just starting to green and the creek beginning to fill..
