You're right,it isn't. Atheism is only a disbelief in gods,nothing else is inferred or may be implied. My atheism is an effect of my skepticism,as is my materialist 'view.' (ie seems to be the case due to a lack of credible evidence to the contrary)
It seems as though the only way for me to 'get' your position is to accept it. Strangely enough you may proclaim "there is not enough evidence" as a stand alone and objective comment. Until you realise otherwise there is no where to go and nothing to 'get'. Illustrated by your view requiring "credible evidence".
I find it as frustrating as you do, you think I'm not getting it and I think you're not getting it. Who's right? I say me, you say you.
