For the record, I actually agree that more complicated passwords are a good idea. I have no problem with them being strongly suggested and recommended. I have a problem with them being forced upon us 'for our own good'. That kind of thing seriously pisses me off.
If I have a weak password, it would present no danger to the forums. Saying it does is a flat out lie. What could anyone accomplish by logging into my account? Nothing, but post something stupid... and I do enough of that on my own. I can see forcing it upon the staff, as logging into a staff member's account gives one a level of power and access that could be a security problem... but regular members should not be forced to use passwords that Adrian personally approves of 'for our own good'.
Yes... such a policy pisses me off enough to leave the forums. You may think that I am overreacting, but since when do I give a shit what anyone else thinks. It pisses me off and I'm gone. Have fun people. Next thing you know, Adrian will be forcing minimum and maximum word counts for your posts... you know... for your own good (to stop spammers).
