"There's really only one thing to do" <- This is given no scope. There's only one thing to do ever? There's only one thing to do in response to a given number of abuse reports? There's only one thing to do when one has the opportunity to abuse a child?
Who is the "they" who didn't "do it"? The abusive priests, who failed to do the right thing (not abusing children)? The church, who failed to get justice for the abused children and to act responsibly to prevent further abuse?
