Why do you assume the source was not God? The phrase "Made light" does not indicate a specific source. Made light refers to made light possiable. Ie: The light spectrum.
היה hayah Is translated "let there be" the word means to bring into existance.
אור 'owr Which is translated light. It does not however mean a specific source of light just what makes sight possiable (a specific wave length of energy in the visual spectrum.) and the defination literally lists all possiable types of known light.
So again, Light becomes possiable on day one. In revelations we are told God illuminates Heaven with the light the emminates from Him and His throne. As God was in proxcimity of Earth durning creation His light was the light that illuminated the skys. the sun is just a proxy, now that His glory has been hidden away from Man.
