Oh, they very much are still raw about it. It's quite an amazing thing to see people hold a grudge for so long.
This whole Texas conversation reminds me of something I said to my parent last time they were here. I am the first one in my family born oustide of Texas, so I am constantly ripping on Texas in front of my parents(they are in denial about their home state). I don't do it in a malicious way, but it's still a reflection on my views about Texas. Anyways, I was talking about how ass-backwards their state has become, and eventually my mom responded with, "You know, lots people are very proud to be from Texas."
And I said, "That's the problem!"
