I really am surprised that 75% here voted yes. Equally surprised that no one voted no. Because it isn't something that science can 'prove,' there is no 'evidence.'

Yes there is. Life exists on at least 1 planet we know of. We know that certain conditions are needed for life to emerge. Saying aliens could exist on other planets is a prediction based on the evidence we already have.

Science is there to make predictions as well as look at the facts. When the predictions meet the facts is when you know your theory is going well.

Yep, they use evidence to make predictions so they can get an estimation of the probabilities.
