1) It was not a US Coup
2) It was a coup organized by the Chilean Navy. The Only US support was the funding of Ell Mercurio (A newspaper)
3) Allende commited suicide even though he was offered free passage to Cuba
4) Allende was never 'elected' by the people. He was elected by a coalition of the Liberal and Socialist parties. When the coalition fell apart the Chilean congress passed a no confidence motion and allende refused to leave and invited ' advisors' from Cuba into the country.
5) 2,000 people were killed in the aftermath as the Trade unions attempted to retake the country -exactly the same number as in the Cuban revolution. Unlike Cuba the dictatr voluntarily reliquished power.
6) Chile is now a fully functioning democracy. Cuba isn't. Venezuala and Ecuador are banning all the press the opposes the government .These are the places you should be looking at.
