From the original story.
Quote:The provenance of the papyrus fragment is a mystery, and its owner has asked to remain anonymous. Until Tuesday, Dr. King had shown the fragment to only a small circle of experts in papyrology and Coptic linguistics, who concluded that it is most likely not a forgery.
So, the people who handled it and examined it concluded it is authentic and the ones who have not are questioning it? This is, frankly, exactly the kind of shit one expects from xtian asswipes desperate to retain their fairy tale belief system.
Scientific examination usually establishes the veracity of these things. The James Ossuary and Jehoash Tablet were found to be forgeries as were the so-called "Lead Codices" from last year. The Gabriel Revelation Stone and the Dead Sea Scrolls were found to be authentic, as were the Nag Hammadi gospels and the gospel of judas.
We already know that before the church unleashed its campaign to establish "orthodoxy" there were many strange beliefs under the banner of xtianity. Far more and far more varied than the collection of shitwits we have walking around now.
Give it some time, Un-d, science will find the truth and you won't ever give a flying fuck anyway because you are committed to upholding bullshit.
