There is no mysterious purpose to life. We were created simply to enjoy life. Not to be tested or to worship. Many people spend their miserable lives searching for some purpose that isn't there, love, freedom, community, religion - or they make their own purpose that causes the same effect. Missing life for the search. Money, work, etc.
Frank Herbert wrote something to the effect that to seek freedom you become enslaved by your desires but to seek discipline you find leberation.
