Well, that's not too surprising since Abrams has openly and gleeful talked about bringing Star Wars style action into Star Trek, which in of itself I don't mind. Star Trek has always had action, but it was action that was never really presented as thrilling or as big as in Star Wars.
It's a bit much to say that the Star Trek film was directly copied from Star Wars though because most of those similarities you'd find in many movies, and stories (including ancient stories).
